2012{ monograms. yes or no? }
my wedding day gift from the husband was a monogram nameplate necklace with my new initials. it was sentimental and very…me! I wear it all the time and I won’t go so far as to say I started a trend but…since then, I have noticed monogram jewelry in particular seems to be everywhere. and I felt particularly stylish when honeymooning in rome, positano, and florence hip Italians asked where I got my necklace.
in addition to jewelry, a common place for monograms is of course weddings. it’s a nice touch to carry a common image or theme throughout the wedding day. but I think that most people (including myself when I started the wedding planning process) think of traditional monograms (think ll bean). those do work for nautical, beach-themed, and even black tie affairs. but have some fun with them if, like me, you’re not so traditional. our final product was more of a logo than true monogram but it represented us and the wedding we were aiming to have.
enjoy some of my faves below!
